Structure and compassion in painful moments

An end-of-life doula provides guidance, structure, and support as death approaches, arrives, and dissipates. As a member of a dying person’s support team, they assist the dying person and their loved ones with mundane and sacred aspects of the grieving and dying process before, during, and after a death. 

With community organizations, the focus is on guiding board members, staff, and community stakeholders to name a shared reality, set intentions for a peaceful transition, and carry out a concrete plan of action.
